Our church services have all the usual things you'd expect in a church: music, prayer, a sermon from the pastor. But at Christ Chapel of the Valley, all of these activities are done in an active way, led by the Holy Spirit.
Our music is a dynamic blend of Christian Contemporary, Rock and Gospel music. We sing Praises to the Lord, and we also sing in Worship to him. At times, the spirit may lead the Worship Team and the congregation to speak to the Lord in a free worship style. You may know some of the songs that we sing, but if you don't, they are easy to learn and the words are always projected on a big screen at the front of the church. Some members of the congregation sing with gusto, while others sing softly. Some members don't sing it all but are in prayer with hands raised. We trust that the Holy Spirit will move you to participate in the manner that is best suited to you.
Led by the Pastor, our prayer focuses on praises and thanks to God, as well as on our church, its members, its visitors, friends and families, and the world outside our own world. Sometimes it is silent, sometimes it is spoken, but it always from the heart.
Pastor Jerrell's sermons are noted for being Spirit-lead to the point where it way too often hits you and your situation right between the eyes. He's a gifted speaker, and has a knack for bringing Scripture into our lives and applying it where it fits. During his sermon, he might incorporate video clips, personal poetry, or testimony from someone in the congregation--all to make an important point. The sermons are easy to follow, with important points and Scripture shown on a big screen at the front of the church. And with your program, you'll be given a study sheet to aid you in following the sermon and its Scriptural readings, with places for notes on the side.
We think you will find the worship at Christ Chapel of the Valley contemporary, relevant, and downright exhilarating. |
